The Tour de France started in Monaco this year. Moore Stephens Monaco sponsored L’Hub Vert, a unique which took place on Wednesday 1st July 2009.

L’Hub Vert was an evening of celebration amongst some of the current top professional riders together with international cycling legends.

More than 14 leading Riders were present including Gert Steegmans, Thor Hushovd, Andy and Franck Schleck, Chris Anker Sorensen, Mark Renshaw, Simon Gerrans, Stuart O'Grady, Filipo Pozatto, Fabian Cancellara and Eddy Merckx.

Sport journalists Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen provided some insight and conducted interviews on stage.

This event supported the Foundation Prince Albert II

A variety of riders’ items such as helmets, riding shoes, jerseys and bike computers were auctioned.

Andrew Gallagher bid and won his favourite item: a framed pink leader jersey from the Tour of Italy 2009 signed by Mark Cavendish.

All proceed of this auction have gone towards the charity, The Foundation Prince Albert II, which was established in 2006 to encourage the implementation of innovative and ethical solutions in three main areas: climate change, biodiversity and water.
